Shadows
Some things don’t stay buried.
Nikolai Varek knows things he shouldn't.
The question isn't how he knows. It's what happens when someone finally asks.
THE STORY
Some stories find the reporter.
Nikolai “Niko” Varek makes his living chasing stories other people overlook. A freelance investigative journalist with an instinct for details, Niko has built a career finding connections others miss.
But lately, the details have started finding him.
Dreams show him places he has never been. Victims he has never met. Moments no witness could have seen. And when those details begin connecting to real crimes, Niko finds himself crossing paths with Detective Elijah Hale, a man who trusts evidence far more than impossible explanations.
For Niko, finding the truth has always been the job.
Now he has to understand why the truth seems to be finding him.
THE TELLERS
Some people see what others can't.
Witch. Seer. Oracle. Prophet. Medium.
Across cultures and centuries, people have given different names to those who claimed to see beyond what others could. Some looked into mirrors. Some read bones or water. Some heard voices. Others dreamed.
The names changed. The gift did not.
They call themselves Tellers.
Their gifts do not all speak the same language. For some, the truth comes through reflections or water. For others, through bones, spirits, or signs. For Niko, it comes in dreams, fragments of lives and moments he was never meant to see.
No one chooses how the gift speaks to them. And seeing the truth does not always mean understanding it.
